One Great Love

People often speak of one great love.

But what does that mean?

Is it the one that loved me the best? The one that stood the test of time, the one I never doubted?

Or is it the one that took my breath away? The one that brought the most joy and laughter and pain and sorrow?

Does love have to be reciprocated to be considered a great love

What if it was my mom or my child or my dog?

Maybe it’s me. Maybe I am my own one great love.

What if it hasn’t even happened yet?

I will not know for sure until I live my last day.
